Saturday night, Justin and I decided to eat at Violette for our anniversary. Violette is a French restaurant that is about half of a mile from our house. We ate here a couple of months ago with some friends and really enjoyed it, so we decided to return.
Justin had the coq au vin (chicken thighs) and I had the gallettes de crab avec aioli (crab cakes). We shared a creme brulee for dessert. It was absolutely delicious!
The previous visit, Justin had the canard a la'orange (duck) and I had the filet de saumon au sesame (salmon filet). We shared a chocolate crepe for dessert. We both commented that we enjoyed our first visit's entrees better than the ones Saturday night. The food was wonderful both times, but we just liked the first entrees better. I liked the creme brulee better than the chocolate crepe.
The atmosphere is very relaxed and we received great service both visits. They have a pianist near the front door and he is great. He takes requests and has many music books to choose from.
Justin and I highly recommend this restaurant.
