This is Justin's father, Brad. He is a nice man who really cares about his family. He will do anything we ask (installing flooring, chiseling up tile and grout, moving us, etc.) and enjoys spending time with his sons and their families. This photo was taken in 2003. Justin and his brother, Darren, are also in the picture. Darren became a father in December and adores his daughter. This is his first Father's Day!
This is my grandfather (Poppie). He loved his family and grandchildren. He and my grandmother built a pool and they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren around the pool. Poppie passed away in 2003, a few short months after Justin and I were married. This picture was taken in 1995.
This is my father, Lewis, with my mother, sister, and me. My father is a subject I don't talk about frequently for several reasons. One reason is he died when I was five years old. I honestly don't remember much about him, which is unfortunate for me because I hear from everyone that he was a wonderful man. Another reason is that it's a really sad subject for me. I still cry because he's gone. He's been gone for nearly twenty-four years, but I still get sad thinking about everything that he has missed in my life - my childhood, my high school graduation, my wedding, my niece's birth...the list goes on and on. This picture was taken in 1986, about a month before Daddy died.
I'm sorry that post got a little emotional. I do hope all fathers have a fantastic day being honored.
