Thaicoon & Sushi Bar

Thaicoon & Sushi Bar (pronounced like tycoon) is a restaurant Justin and I have visited several times. Last Friday night, we called in our order and picked-up. I was craving Chinese food, but nothing was open because it was New Year's Day. Thaicoon was open so I decided Japanese food would work.

During my previous visits to Thaicoon, I've only eaten sushi. I don't remember all the rolls I've tried, but I have eaten the shrimp tempura roll since it's my absolute favorite and I eat it anytime I get sushi. Last week, I tried the shrimp teriyaki. It was very yummy and will probably be something I eat again. The shrimp was very lightly breaded and fried. It was then added to sauteed vegetables and teriyaki sauce. It was delicious! It was served with steamed white rice. Yumm-o! My entree was also served with miso soup, which I didn't like, so Grant gladly enjoyed it for me with his California roll.

Justin had the eel roll and an order of Thaicoon fried rice. The rice had shrimp and chicken in it. I tried a shrimp, but I think my shrimp was better. He enjoyed his food, too. He has also tried the hamachi roll (yellow tail). Justin says that eel is absolutely delicious. I want to try it one day, but that day hasn't arrived, yet. I guess I keep having visions of the eel I had to dissect in college biology lab. Mmmm...
